Photograph found in the museum of a roll top desk which came from the family of George F. Smith, who operated Smith Store and the first Post Office in Albemarle until 1842. This desk is circa 1880 - 1900 . It is accompanied by a bill of sale for the desk; sold by Mr. Smith's third great grandson in August, 1987. |
